You’ll probably recognize this: as a leader or a colleague, you’ve held thorough discussions and made clear agreements. Yet people often don’t follow up on their commitments. It seems like others simply don’t get it, even though it’s clear to you. What can you do?

There is clearly a gap between expectations and actual results. Even though it looks as though the other person “doesn’t get it,” there can any number of underlying causes. The training Crucial Accountability teaches you how to analyze the situation and help the other close the gap. You’ll use the Crucial Conversations skills supplemented by additional skills from the model Six Sources of Influence™.

This training can be used as a powerful one-day follow-up to the training Crucial Conversations, but is also extremely effective as a two-day stand-alone training. The training is appropriate for everyone who works with others and is partially or completely dependent on the contributions of others.

COMPANIES WHO ARE SUCCESSFULLY USING Crucial Accountability

We use a unique learning method based on the latest research on effective learning. Prior to the training, participants receive pre-work which consists of taking the accountability test “What Would You Do?”, reading the first chapter of the book Crucial Accountability, and recording a few personal examples of Crucial Accountability challenges.

The training begins with learning five skills (nine in the two-day version). After learning each skill, participants get the chance to practice using their own examples. This takes place in table groups, in trios, and in pairs (or “learning partners”). With a learning partner, participants can discuss their own personal examples, then move to action and results. During the group exercises, the trainer addresses commonly raised issues. There is no traditional role-play with a camera. Our modern training method is structured, interactive, and most of all, effective.
